New Epstein Photos Released by Democrats Ahead of DOJ Deadline
The House Oversight Committee has released a batch of around 70 photos from the estate of late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
This marks the third release from a total of more than 95,000 photos the committee received from Epstein's estate, showcasing unsettling images that include quotes from Vladimir Nabokov's 'Lolita' inscribed on women's bodies, along with redacted images of foreign passports.
The release comes on the eve of a significant deadline set for the Department of Justice (DOJ) to disclose all files related to its investigation into Epstein, which concludes on December 19.
Robert Garcia, the ranking member of the committee, remarked, These new images raise more questions about what exactly the Department of Justice has in its possession.
What's in the Images Released
Among the newly released photos are images of Epstein with various notable personalities, including Noam Chomsky on a private plane, Bill Gates beside a woman with a redacted face, and Steve Bannon interacting with Epstein at his desk.
These releases also continue to highlight prominent figures associated with Epstein, including former presidents Donald Trump and Bill Clinton, as well as others like Woody Allen and Prince Andrew. Importantly, the committee clarifies that being featured in the photos does not suggest involvement in illegal activities.
Accompanying the photo release, committee Democrats noted that the Epstein estate did not provide necessary context or timestamps for the images. The committee aims to improve transparency surrounding Epstein's network and disturbing practices.
Included in the release were several images depicting quotes from 'Lolita' written on different parts of a woman's body—a striking aspect given the novel’s themes of grooming and manipulation.
The batch also contains various international identification documents from countries such as Lithuania, Russia, and Ukraine, with much of the data redacted. The committee indicates these belong to women with whom Epstein and his associates may have been involved.
Another noteworthy revelation shows Epstein at a desk, surrounded by three women, one of whom has her hand on his chest, raising further questions about the nature of these relationships.
In total, the committee holds thousands of both graphic and mundane images related to Epstein's affairs, following a subpoena sent to his estate in August. As part of the Epstein Files Transparency Act signed into law last month, the DOJ faces a deadline to reveal its files, although much of this will likely be heavily redacted.
