Healthcare officials warn of fatalities among patients due to severe lack of food and water
In the northern Gaza Strip, the Indonesian Hospital is facing a critical shortage of food and water, putting dozens of wounded patients in jeopardy, according to local health authorities. The Gaza health ministry issued a stark warning on Tuesday, stating that 60 patients are at risk of death as their nutritional and hydration needs remain unmet amid the ongoing conflict. The ministry stressed that the humanitarian situation in the hospital has reached alarming levels, urging the international community to intervene to save lives. The situation worsens as the United Nations marks the 75th anniversary of Human Rights Day, emphasizing the fallout from the Gaza war that has severely undermined human rights and humanitarian values. Philippe Lazzarini, head of the UNRWA, criticized the conflict for tarnishing shared humanity and ignoring the principles established in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. As Israeli military operations and airstrikes continue in northern Gaza, focus has shifted to the Israel-Hezbollah conflict, along with recent developments in Syria. Intensified Israeli attacks have aimed to quash perceived Hamas threats, with reports of heavy casualties, including 25 fatalities from a single airstrike in Beit Hanoun on Monday evening. Despite official evacuation calls for civilians from the area, many have no viable options for relocation after prolonged displacement over the past year.
