In brief

An Israeli helicopter fired a missile at a residential apartment in Gaza City’s Sheikh Radwan area, wounding two Palestinians and adding to ongoing ceasefire violations. The attack coincided with extensive house demolitions and artillery shelling across the Gaza Strip, amid a ceasefire that has been in effect since October 2025.

At least two Palestinians were wounded early Friday when an Israeli helicopter fired a missile at a residential apartment in Gaza City’s Sheikh Radwan neighbourhood, an Iranian‑based news agency quoted medical and local witnesses as reporting the strike, which occurred despite a ceasefire in place since October 2025.

The report said the missile caused minor injuries to the two residents inside the building, while no other casualties were reported. Witnesses to the event also heard a loud explosion that was felt across wide areas of the Gaza Strip.

In the central Gaza Strip, Israeli forces carried out extensive house demolitions east of Al‑Masdar town and delivered heavy artillery shelling in the area, according to local sources. In the south, Israeli military vehicles opened heavy gunfire toward tents housing displaced Palestinians in the Qizan al‑Najjar and Jorat al‑Lut areas south of Khan Younis, though these shots reportedly caused no casualties.

Gaza’s Health Ministry figures show that Israeli violations of the ceasefire have so far killed 1,574 Palestinians and wounded 5,687 others, the latest count being released before Thursday. Since the war began in October 2023, the conflict has killed more than 74,000 Palestinians, injured over 175,000 and destroyed around 90 % of civilian infrastructure.

While the strike on Sheikh Radwan was the latest in a series of uncovered attacks, elsewhere in the Strip claims of Israeli gunfire and demolitions were also reported, a separate account noting a seven‑person casualty toll in different sectors of Gaza, according to a London‑based publication.
