In brief
At the SupplySide Global 2026 expo in Las Vegas, Chinese companies showcased health ingredients and announced plans to shift from supplying raw materials to producing branded finished products in the United States. Ganoherb will focus on reishi mushroom coffee and tea, while Changsha Huir will build a U.S. processing plant to manufacture finished goods. Industry experts note that China still supplies about 80 % of supplemental raw materials, underscoring the strategic shift.
At SupplySide Global 2026, which closed on Friday in Las Vegas, Chinese companies presented health ingredients and revealed plans to move into branded finished products in the United States, Xinhua reports.
More than 1,600 exhibitors and some 20,000 industry professionals attended the event, including nearly 600 Chinese firms, a record for China’s participation, Xinhua noted.
Ganoherb Group, a major producer of organic lingzhi (reishi) products, said its president and founder Li Ye told Xinhua that the company will focus on higher‑value finished offerings such as reishi mushroom coffee and tea in the U.S., building on China’s traditional strengths in lingzhi cultivation.
"We plan to focus more on branded products in the U.S. market," Li Ye said.
Changsha Huir Biological‑tech Co., Ltd. added that its general manager Yuan Zhi told Xinhua the company will construct a U.S. processing facility to manufacture finished goods for global distribution after more than a decade of supplying natural extracts overseas.
"China’s advantages include diverse raw‑material sources and increasingly automated, energy‑efficient production equipment," Yuan Zhi said.
The shift reflects a broader trend among Chinese suppliers, which remain essential to the dietary supplement supply chain, Xinhua added. Loren Israelsen, president of the United Natural Products Alliance, said China supplies roughly 80 percent of the industry’s raw materials, underscoring the significance of Chinese expertise even as firms look to add value in new markets.
