A poll released Monday in Seoul revealed that disapproval of President Lee Jae Myung’s administration surpasses his approval rating, with 53.8% of respondents expressing disapproval compared to 45.6% approval, Xinhua reported. The figures were obtained via computer‑assisted telephone interviewing (CATI) by domestic pollster Flower Research.

The same CATI data indicated that support for the ruling Democratic Party fell 0.7 percentage points to 41.2%, while the opposition People Power Party slipped 0.9 percentage points to 35.8%. In a secondary automated response system (ARS) survey, the Democratic Party’s score dropped 1.6 points to 38.1%, and the People Power Party’s support remained steady at 41.9%.

According to the ARS poll, the approval rating for President Lee dropped to 39.4% while disapproval climbed to 59.7%, a 20.3‑point spread. This election‑year research tightens the competition for public backing between both parties.

Big News Network echoed the Xinhua figures, reporting that Lee’s approval stood at 45.6% and disapproval at 53.8% based on the CATI methodology. The network confirmed that the poll results come from the same Flower Research survey, highlighting the widening gap in public sentiment toward the president’s administration.
