On Nov. 5, Kabul welcomed a four‑day agriculture and livestock exhibition, inaugurated by Afghan Minister Mawlawi Ataullah Omari. The event aims to improve market access, elevate domestic production, reduce dependence on imports and strengthen ties between farmers, livestock breeders, investors and traders. A week earlier, Kabul hosted Afghanistan’s first specialized mining expo featuring precious stones.

Xinhua reported that a four‑day agriculture and livestock exhibition opened in Kabul on Wednesday, Nov. 5, after a ceremony held by the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock.

The Ministry said that Minister Mawlawi Ataullah Omari used the inauguration to highlight Afghanistan’s natural and human advantages, including abundant water resources, fertile soil, a favorable climate and a sizeable workforce.

He described the exhibition as an important platform for showcasing sector achievements, identifying current capacities and forging stronger links among investors, traders, farmers and livestock producers.

The event brings farmers, livestock breeders and local entrepreneurs from across the country to display their products and the Ministry says it seeks to improve market access for agricultural and livestock goods, boost domestic production, reduce dependence on imports, expand exports and enhance coordination between producers and the private sector.

The exhibition is part of a wider series of trade initiatives in the capital; a week earlier, Kabul hosted Afghanistan’s first specialized mining exhibition with more than 140 booths featuring precious and semi‑precious stones such as emeralds, rubies and lapis lazuli.
