In brief

Kuwait sharply condemned the Houthi militia’s attempt to target Madinah with a ballistic missile, describing the move as a flagrant violation of Saudi sovereignty and international law. The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed its solidarity with Saudi Arabia and supported measures to safeguard the kingdom’s security.

Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on November 5 issued a statement via the Saudi Press Agency declaring that the Houthi militia’s attempt to launch a ballistic missile at Saudi Arabia’s Madinah region was a blatant violation of the kingdom’s sovereignty and of international humanitarian law. The statement called the attack a “flag‑rant” breach of both national and international law.

The ministry stressed that Kuwait’s rejection of continued terrorist attacks is unequivocal and described the Houthi action as a provocation that incites Muslims’ sentiments worldwide. It highlighted that Saudi Arabia’s security is an integral part of Kuwait’s security and of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states.

In the same statement, the Kuwaiti foreign ministry reaffirmed its unwavering solidarity with Saudi Arabia and pledged support for all measures that Saudi authorities take to safeguard their sovereignty, protect citizens and residents, and maintain regional stability. It underscored that the attack threatens not only Saudi territory but the broader Gulf region’s security environment.

There were no additional statements or reactions from other Gulf states cited in the initial release. The Saudi Press Agency did not comment on the authenticity of the missile launch or provide technical details. The statement remains the latest official response from Kuwait regarding the incident.
