Bahrain has sharply condemned the Houthi militia’s attempted ballistic missile launch aimed at Saudi Arabia’s Madinah region, the Kingdom’s foreign ministry said on Monday.

Condemnation of Houthi Missile Attempt

The foreign ministry described the launch as a flagrant violation of Saudi sovereignty and international law, a threat to civilians and visitors to the Prophet’s Mosque, and an assault on holy sites that offends Muslims worldwide.

It also noted that the Houthis had launched an unmanned aerial vehicle toward Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Region, which Saudi air defenses intercepted and thwarted before reaching its target.

The ministry praised the Royal Saudi Air Defense Forces for their efficient interception and reaffirmed Bahrain’s solidarity with Saudi Arabia as part of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

Bahrain re‑called Saudi Arabia’s legitimate right to self‑defence under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter and urged the UN Security Council to adopt decisive measures against repeated Houthi attacks.

The ministry reaffirmed its call for the full implementation of Resolution 2216 (2015), stressing that protecting holy sites and civilian objects is essential for regional peace and security.
