In brief

Al Jazeera reports Donald Trump said the U.S. may have to ‘destroy’ Iran, warning a rebuild would last 25 years. Iran has sent a nuclear proposal via Qatari mediators, while its IRGC stands ready to target states aiding renewed attacks. Regional diplomats have called fearing a large‑scale strike.

On Tuesday, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the United States may have to ‘destroy’ the rest of Iran, warning that rebuilding would take 25 years, Al Jazeera reported at 4 am local time in Tehran.

Al Jazeera quoted Trump saying:

“You’ll know soon enough” if the United States acts, adding that the US now has “everything that we’ve wanted to control” in Iran after seven months of war.
He also said Tehran could not advance its nuclear program without U.S. approval.

Iran, meanwhile, has reportedly sent a nuclear proposal to Washington through Qatari mediators, a development Washington is reviewing while Tehran awaits that proposal’s “seven demands” to be met, Al Jazeera said.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) warned that any state aiding the United States in new attacks would be treated as a “legitimate target,” Al Jazeera reported.

In other conflict-related updates, three Palestinians were killed and several others injured in an Israeli air attack on al‑Shati refugee camp west of Gaza City. The Saudi‑led coalition claimed it had intercepted a Houthi missile launched toward Medina, a claim the Houthis denied. Iran’s navy said two more oil tankers had caught fire in the Strait of Hormuz after striking naval mines, bringing the total to at least five vessel fires in the past 24 hours.

New Arab reported that regional diplomats held a flurry of calls on Thursday amid fears the U.S. president will soon order a large‑scale military operation against Iran.
