Myanmar’s Directorate of Investment and Company Administration announced that the country attracted more than $433 million in foreign direct investment (FDI) during the first six months of fiscal year 2026‑27, according to Xinhua.
From April to September 2026, the real‑estate sector was the top recipient, pulling in $245 million, while transport and communication drew over $131 million and manufacturing attracted over $29 million, Xinhua reported.
China and Singapore emerged as the largest investors in Myanmar for the period, the announcement added. The data reflects a continued uptick in investment activity following the country’s recent policy adjustments aimed at attracting foreign capital.
